Dr. Robert Hoffman is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition, in Pensacola. In his Pensacon 2015 presentation, he will discuss the concept of the robot in science fiction and in reality. The presentation will focus on the recent DARPA Robotics Competition, in which IHMC participated with great success against world-class competitors. Problems in getting real robots to do real things in the real world will be highlighted, and videos will be shown of the DARPA robotics competition.
